Have you ever been driving down your states interstate highways or even the roads down the main street of your city and really looked at the condition of these roads? Most of the roads you drive on each day are becoming so full of pot holes that it is becoming more uncomfortable to travel on them with each passing day. You see road crews working on all kinds of jobs in connection to these roads, but there are so many roads that need to be fixed, not all of them get done. If you think about this for a minute, you pay for the right to drive on these roads so should they not be comfortable to drive on?

If you feel the same, you should get with your elected officials in your state or city offices and tell them about the problem. Your votes put these officials in their offices and you should be able to talk to them about important things. But this is not the truth. Many of these people that we put into office, once they get there, they are too busy to talk to any of us without trying again and again to reach them. If you try to talk to your local elected official and you can not seem to get your point across, go to some of the other professionals in your state offices to see if they can be of some help.

There are so many things that need repairing in our states that we would be busy for years. The water pipes and sewer systems are so old and out dated some of them are in worse shape than the roads we drive on. Some of your schools are run down as well. Some states and cities might have a lot of people living there, but their budget is broke. You have whole states that can not meet their budgets. You would think with all of the people paying their taxes to a state that this would not happen. Where is all of their money going? Are there too many people living in your area that are not paying their way?

Sometimes citizens just have to stand up for what we think is right, especially today when it seems that our tax dollars are going everywhere except where they should be. We need new roads and new sewer systems, yet we are bailing out car companies and banks that sunk their own selves into the situation they are in. We have a right to expect that the needs of all of the people of our great country are met before the interests of a select few are remedied. Raggedy roads are a very small part of the overall problems we are facing.
