Jeff Foxworthy recently hosted his syndicated Foxworthy Countdown radio show for the last time. As reported by The Boot, the blue collar comedian hosted the final episode of the show, which counts down the Top 30 country hits while also showcasing side-splitting comedy skits and interviewing stars, during the weekend of Dec. 26-27. The Foxworthy Countdown debuted in 1999 with just 11 radio stations airing it, and had expanded to 250 stations (include 30 in Canada and a few in Australia) when it went off the air.

When I think environment, I think Smokey Bear. Smokey was created in 1944 by the Ad Council and has been part of the longest running public service campaign in U.S. history. In 1952, however, song writers Steve Nelson and Jack Rollins tried to change Smokey's name. When they wrote their hit "Smokey The Bear", they gave Smokey "The" for a middle name to improve the rhythm of their song. Obviously, they couldn't deal with the bear facts.

Three guys up in trees are winning the war of words and nerves against the multi-billion University of California system. The three guys and their supporters are bringing the highly taunted University of California to its administrative and intellectual knees, thus begging the question of the value of a higher UC education.

Has spring sprung? According to my calendar, it began at 12:07am GMT – otherwise known as Greenwich Mean Time. I googled GMT and discovered it's seven hours ahead of PDT. Last year this wasn't a problem. We were in Palm Springs, which at its coldest is spring-like.

So, you bought a brand new shiny bike and you don't want to get it dirty. You've decided that taking it to the rally at Sturgis by trailer should protect it. Get real! The whole idea of the Sturgis Bike rally is not just to meet people at the rally but the adventure and experience of the ride there. Maybe you don't want to ride there because it might rain or your butt might get sore. Well, boo-hoo, what are you a big sissy? You're supposed to get sore, you're suppose to get wet, you're suppose to get dirty; you're a biker! Okay, if you're over 75 and want to be with the guys one more time, you're forgiven, otherwise buck up, spray some "Old Fart Spray" on those achy muscles and use the bike for what it was made, the freedom of the road.
