It started thousands of years ago. Man, animals and the flora combined to make our earth the most beautiful planet in the universe. All three blended well, with man and animals making their habitat in the forests and mountains among the flora. Natural resources were shared by all. But with some of the animals being at the top of the food chain, others felt threatened by their presence. Physically being weaker than the animals, man had to plan for his survival and that started the development.

The key to a peaceful and fulfilling trip into the wilderness is having appropriate shelter to protect members of the party from the elements. You do not want to be too cold or wet in winter, nor too hot and humid in the summer. If you are traveling far away from civilization, it is important to keep your shelter to a minimum weight, and, therefore, easy to carry. Otherwise, be prepared to obtain shelter from the natural elements available freely at the campsite.

The Golden-Breasted starling is a strikingly beautiful bird, vibrantly colored and highly visible in the wild. Considered by some to be one of the most beautiful of all African starlings, the Golden-Breasted starling has a deep green plumage on its head, a metallic blue back and tail, contrasting white eyes, wings of a rich blue-violet, and yellow across its breast, belly and upper tail covers.
