While many of us in the country are preparing our homes for the coming winter months that will be filled with rain, sleet, snow, and freezing weather, the poor souls who live in certain places in our western states are still dealing with wildfires that are threatening their homes and businesses. It is such a vast contrast from one side of our country to the other. It just goes to show how much difference there is in the climates we live in and the weird weather patterns we have experienced lately.

Yesterday I listened to the happiest mockingbird in creation. Perched on a limb in a spring time maple tree, he cast a spell on his audience below. We listened to song after song until he wearied of all the applause and left the stage. In a few moments he came back for a curtain call and once again was greeted with applause.

Well, Floridians are once again facing the real possibility of being hit by a hurricane one more time. For the ones who have lived in this region for many years, it is a common occurrence that is just lived through and they take whatever the weather brings then pick up the pieces and go on.
