With the cost (and pollution levels) of traditional energy sources such as burning coal and other combustible resources being extremely high, countries are obliged by themselves to look at other, more renewable energy sources to meet their needs. Energy from the wind is cited to solve this current energy shortage trends. To get energy from wind, we must focus on a concept known as kinetic energy. Whereas many wind projects have been turned down in many areas such as the Cape Cod wind energy project other regions are embracing such technologies.

I am fortunate to be living in a region of Australia with one of the richest Aboriginal cultures and a living history. Adult stem cell research has advanced in leaps and bounds over the past decade. What was once viewed as inflexible, unable to proliferate and set in its ways has now been found to revert back to its earlier state. New evidence suggests that taking an adult stem cell from bone marrow or the spinal cord can become a blank slate like fetal stem cells, rather than possessing the sole ability to produce more bone marrow or more spinal cord tissue only. As a result of this finding, scientists hope to create more effective treatments for a wide range of degenerative diseases and disabling injuries.

Scientists from Arizona State University have recently found that they can non-invasively stimulate the brain using pulses of ultrasound. In the past, ultrasound has been used for imaging diagnostics. Ultrasound has the capability of passing through a person's skull unimpeded. It can be targeted to a relatively small area of the brain, 1cm in diameter. By contrast, transcranial magnetic stimulation only has a targeting accuracy of 1 mm or greater. Also conventional transcranial magnetic stimulation can only reach several centimeters into the brain. Ultrasound can touch practically any brain area.
